A rare snake, the Texas snake, was handed over to the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. This was reported by the press service of the Department of Nature Management and Environmental Protection of Moscow.
“The snake was found in one of the apartments in the Mitino district. The hotline of "Service 112" received a signal - a white snake was found in the apartment. Employees of the Department of Nature Management and Environmental Protection, together with the Ministry of Emergency Situations, arrived at the place of the call and took a snake of an exotic subspecies. The reptile was sent to the Department's Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, where it was examined by specialists. It turned out to be a beautiful white snake with blue eyes, the scientific name is Elaphe obsolete lindheimeri leucistic,”the message says.
As noted, the snake grows to an average of about 2 m. “This type of reptile is widespread in North America, mainly in arid regions - river valleys and ravines. It is worth mentioning that this snake is not venomous, but rather aggressive. Usually, she shows her aggressiveness at the moment when she foresees danger and is cornered,”the press service added.
