In Moscow, the incidence of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) is below the epidemic threshold by 50.9%. This was reported by the press service of the Moscow department of the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare (Rospotrebnadzor).
“The epidemiological situation with influenza and ARVI in Moscow in the fourth week of 2021 (January 18-24) is calm, corresponds to the season of the year, the incidence rate in comparison with the previous week of the current epidemic season among the total population is 16.1% lower. The incidence rates compared to the epidemic threshold levels are lower among all age groups of the population: among the total population by 50.9%, among children 0-2 years old - by 86.0%, among children 3-6 years old - by 85.3%, among children 7-14 years old - by 80.8%, among the adult population it is lower by 8.3%,”the message says.
As noted, in connection with the preparation for the epidemic season for influenza and SARS, more than 7 million 417.1 thousand people were vaccinated at the expense of all sources of funding, of which 1 million 264 thousand 850 children, which is 59.1% of the total population of the city.
Earlier, Izvestia, citing the words of an expert from Rospotrebnadzor, reported that the spread of influenza had been avoided in Russia. One of the main reasons is compliance with anti-epidemic measures.
