MOSCOW, January 21. / TASS /. Russian families received over 13.5 million one-time "New Year" payments for children under seven years old, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation Andrei Pudov said on Thursday.

"The last payment of 5 thousand rubles for children under 7 years old - 13.7 million children received such payments. More than 68 billion rubles (it was sent - note. TASS)", - he said at an expanded meeting of the Federation Council Committee on Social Policy.
At a press conference on December 17, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that families with children by the New Year will receive another 5,000 rubles from the state for each child under eight years old.
The payment was calculated automatically according to the details of the account indicated for previously made payments to families with children under three years old and families with children from three to 16 years old. Once again, the application had to be submitted only if the previously indicated account was closed.
The payment is received by families with children born from December 18, 2012 to March 31, 2021. The Ministry of Finance reported that payments will preliminary require 73.5 billion rubles from the government reserve fund and will affect 14.7 million children.
