MAKHACHKALA, January 15. / TASS /. The number of people who went to doctors with poisoning in Buinaksk increased to 196 people, of which 96 were hospitalized. Mostly children, TASS was told at the city hall on Friday.
"From the very beginning [of the incident], 196 people have applied for help, of which 165 are children. 68 people have been discharged, all children. At the moment, 96 people are in hospitals in Buinaksk, of which 73 are children," the source said.
As previously reported in the city administration, there is no shortage of beds in the city, all the necessary drugs are available in full.
On Thursday, the department of Rospotrebnadzor in Dagestan reported that, based on the results of a study of tap water in Buinaksk, the DNA of the causative agent of dysentery was found. The city has temporarily suspended the activities of schools and kindergartens, banned the use of tap water for drinking and household needs. Investigative bodies in the republic opened a criminal case under Art. 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Provision of services that do not meet the requirements of the safety of life or health of consumers").
