More than 200 points of reception of New Year trees will be organized in the Moscow region as part of the environmental campaign "Give your tree a second life", the action will be held from January 15 to February 15. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services of the Moscow Region.
"This year, the used up New Year trees will be accepted at all points of reception of large-sized waste" Megabak ", there are already more than 40 such sites in the region, and in those municipalities where" Megabak "is still unorganized, as in previous years, the administrations will equip branded points reception, in total, the trees will receive about 200 points ", - the words of the Deputy Chairman of the Moscow Region Government Evgeny Khromushin are quoted in the message.
He noted that in the previous two years, residents took an active part in the action "Give your tree a second life" and handed over more than 10.5 thousand trees. They have been processed into soil and elements for playgrounds. "This year we expect that residents will hand over several times more trees," added Khromushin.
The press service said that all the trees handed over to the points will be sent for recycling, where they will be processed into chips. Then they will be used for composting and the production of soil, which will be used when planting new spruce as part of the Moscow Region Plant Your Tree and Victory Forest campaigns.
As explained in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Moscow Region, the spruce collection points will work for a month - from January 15 to February 15.
