“Families for almost 27.6 million children received payments, and the total amount of funds for these payments amounted to 585 billion rubles. For comparison, this is twice as much as our spending on maternal family capital this year, "Topilin quotes TASS.

According to him, the prompt work on the appointment and payment of money within the framework of support in the pandemic allowed the fund to acquire a unique experience.

“We understood perfectly well that in conditions when people cannot physically go to PFR offices with applications, it is necessary to do it most comfortably, most conveniently for families with children, so we used the technology for submitting applications through a single portal of public services,” he added.

Topilin also noted that 92% of Russian families with children under 8 have already received payments for the New Year in the amount of five thousand rubles. According to the Ministry of Finance, in total, the money must be paid for 14.7 million children under the age of 8.

“We are carrying out a very serious and large-scale work on these payments. Immediately after the instructions of the president, our offices worked on weekends to promptly make all the charges. Thanks to this, the FIU has already transferred 67.7 billion rubles for more than 13.5 million children,”he said.

At the same time, the minister clarified that this number includes 560 thousand children, either born after July 1, 2020, or from families that did not submit applications for other child benefits in 2020.

Let us remind you that during the annual press conference, President Vladimir Putin spoke about the proposals of volunteers to support children and announced a new payment of 5 thousand rubles to Russian families for each child under seven years old. Putin also touched upon the issue of payments to families with children already in effect in Russia.

The Pension Fund of Russia reported that parents who would like to receive payments of 5 thousand rubles before the New Year must submit an application no later than December 29.
