The reason lies in the peculiarities of children's immunity.

Despite the fact that medicine knows cases of severe inflammation in children against the background of coronavirus, a child is more likely to cope with the infection faster than an adult. An immunologist explained why children tolerate coronavirus more easily.
In an interview with the online publication RIA Novosti, the head of the pediatric department of the Jerusalem Hadassah hospital, Professor Yakov Berkun, noted that children tolerate coronavirus more easily due to the peculiarities of their immune system: “Children have an underdeveloped immune system, the immune system has many components. And apparently, the part that has not yet been developed is not needed to fight the coronavirus.
And the innate immune system is just more effective in children - maybe because of this, children get sick more easily. Then we know the mechanism by which the virus enters our cells through certain receptors. And in children, these receptors, firstly, are fewer, and secondly, there are still signals inside the cells, and this signal works less in children.
Perhaps that is why the virus penetrates less into the body, into cells, and less often infection begins."
Also, the immunologist emphasized that children not only get sick with coronavirus more easily, but very rarely become a source of infection for the people around them.
Recall that experts spoke about the dynamics of the spread of coronavirus in Russia. And the doctor explained what abnormalities in the intestines appear against the background of COVID-19.
As for schoolchildren, it has already become known that the Unified State Exam in Russia is postponed, and the OGE is canceled.
We also note that the Russians were prompted how to properly disinfect masks.
According to the World Health Organization, the number of people infected with COVID-19 in the world as of May 14 is 4,218,212 people.
