NOVOSIBIRSK, March 3. / TASS /. People's Artist of Russia Farukh Ruzimatov became the new head of the ballet troupe of the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theater (NOVAT). This was reported on Wednesday by TASS in the press service of NOVAT with reference to the artistic director of the theater, Vladimir Kekhman.
“There is no need to introduce Farukh Ruzimatov - his fame extends far beyond the ballet world. At the head of our troupe will be a person with a deep understanding of classical ballet, who has a special sense of style and professional intuition. Based on the experience of our joint work, I am sure that the team will have an interesting and fruitful creative activity, "said Kehman.
According to the press service, in 2016 Ruzimatov's first meeting with the troupe of the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theater took place - the premiere of the ballet Le Corsaire, edited by Farukh Ruzimatov, took place on the NOVAT stage.
Farukh Ruzimatov was born on June 26, 1963. Graduated from the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet. From 1981 to 2007 he danced at the Mariinsky Theater. From 1990-1991 he collaborated with the American Ballet Theater as a guest soloist. From 2007 to 2009, he served as artistic director of the Mikhailovsky Theater ballet. In 2014-2015, he headed the ballet troupe of the Rostov State Musical Theater. During his artistic career, he danced leading roles in major performances of the classical repertoire, including Albert in Giselle, Solor in La Bayadère, Ali in Corsair, Prince Désir in The Sleeping Beauty.
Earlier, People's Artist of the Georgian SSR, People's Artist of Russia Nina Ananiashvili was invited to take the place of the head of the NOVAT ballet troupe. However, in January, the theater terminated the contract with her. As the press service of the theater reported, the decision was made by agreement of the parties after negotiations between Kekhman and Ananiashvili.
