In the Chelyabinsk region, the status of a large family has been raised. The initiative to support large families, whose children study at a technical school or university, was made by the Governor of the region Alexei Teksler. At a meeting of the Legislative Assembly held today, February 25, the deputies supported this proposal. Now a large family in the Chelyabinsk region is a family that has three or more children under the age of eighteen. After the children become adults, the family loses this status and is no longer eligible to receive a monthly cash payment for housing and utilities, as well as a monthly cash payment in the event of the birth (adoption) of a third and subsequent child, a one-time social benefit for preparation for the academic year. The amendments to the law, proposed by Alexei Teksler, provide that the family will retain the status of a large family if the eldest child is already eighteen years old, but he continues to receive full-time education. The family will be considered large as long as the eldest child is studying at a technical school or university until he reaches the age of 23.
