MOSCOW, February 24. / TASS /. About 1.8 million families currently receive payments for children under three years of age. Benefits in the amount of the regional living wage per child are accrued to families with incomes below two living wages per person as part of the Demography national project, the press service of the Ministry of Labor told TASS on Wednesday.
"Payments for the first child were provided in January 2021 to 974 thousand families. They are paid directly from the federal budget. Over 262 thousand families receive monthly benefits for the second child from the maternity capital. About 619 thousand families receive payments for the third and subsequent children. These payments are carried out at the expense of the federal and regional budgets, "- said in the ministry.
The department recalled that since last year, the coverage of families receiving payments for children within the framework of the national project has significantly increased.
"This is due to the extension of the period of payments and changes in the criteria of need. If before the parents received additional funds until the child reaches 1.5 years of age, then from this year the period of payments has been extended to three years. In addition, previously funds were accrued to families whose average per capita income was 1, 5 living wages. Starting this year, payments are due to all families where there are less than two living wages per person, "added the Ministry of Labor.
