MOSCOW, March 2. / TASS /. Almost 505 billion rubles will be allocated during 2021 to pay child benefits, of which 276 billion rubles will be received by families with children aged three to seven years. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova told about this in an interview with TASS.
“In 2021, we plan to allocate almost 505 billion rubles from the federal budget to pay benefits for the first, second and third child, as well as families with children aged three to seven years, inclusive. Of these, 276 billion rubles are payments for families, where children from three to seven years old grow up, "she said.
Golikova added that in 2020, about 1.8 million families received benefits for the first, second and third child, another 4.7 million families took advantage of payments for children from three to seven years old inclusive. "This allowance turned out to be extremely demanded by our citizens, its size was half the subsistence level. From this year, depending on how much a family needs - 75% of the subsistence level or 100% of the subsistence level to get out of poverty, this amount will change," - she explained.
Poverty reduction programs
According to Golikova, after evaluating regional poverty reduction programs, the government will return to decisions on additional support for families with children.
"After the adoption of programs by all regions of the country, we will evaluate the set of measures that they have proposed, including our support from the federal budget, and after analyzing these programs, we will return to taking additional measures to support families," she said.
Golikova added that currently each region is building its own poverty reduction program. "The Ministry of Labor has prepared guidelines for the formation of regional poverty reduction programs, and at the moment more than half of the regions have adopted programs. Similarly, programs have been adopted by all 85 regions to reduce tension in the labor market and achieve pre-pandemic unemployment rates," she said.
