In the Primorsky Territory, a bear attacked a man. The young man managed to escape from the predator by climbing an iron tower.

The incident occurred two kilometers from the Shepalov Bay, where the recreation center is located, on Sunday afternoon, February 21. A thirty-three-year-old resident of Nakhodka was walking in the forest when a bear suddenly appeared. The man climbed onto a nearby iron tower and this saved his life, but the predator managed to grab his leg and injure him.

From the tower, the victim called the rescuers. The location of the man was determined by geolocation on his mobile. Four rescuers from the Nakhodka branch of the Far East regional detachment of the EMERCOM of Russia, three employees of the State Hunting Supervision Service, two police officers, the victim's father and brother went to the forest. When the tourist was found, the beast had already left.

“Rescuers provided the man with first aid, removed the tourniquet with which he … pulled his leg to stop the blood, put a pressure bandage on the lacerated wound. With the help of climbing equipment, the victim was evacuated from the tower down,”the press service of the rescue team said.

The man was carried on a stretcher for more than two kilometers through difficult terrain - through forests, slopes, ravines and ice, and then handed over to ambulance workers. Now the victim is in the hospital, his condition is assessed as satisfactory. Rescuers recommended that vacationers in Shepalov Bay refrain from walking into the forest, especially alone.
