ASTANA, 15 Feb - RIA Novosti. A student of the 10th grade of an Astana school saved a five-year-old child who fell into a well two meters deep, Sputnik Kazakhstan reports.

On Friday, the child fell into a well while walking with his mother. At this time, the tenth grader Nadir Omargaziev with a friend was returning from college and, seeing two crying women, decided to find out what had happened. "At first, nothing was visible in the well. We looked more closely - we saw a child. He did not scream, he cried quietly. It seems to me that he was in a state of shock," Nadir shared with Sputnik Kazakhstan. The boy instantly made a decision and volunteered to go down the well, in which he could get stuck himself.
"Without hesitation, I jumped off. The water was icy, muddy, smelly. When I put the boy on my leg, they pulled the lasso. I tied the boy, pulled it out," continued the tenth grader.
When the rescuers arrived at the scene, both the child and Nadir had already got out of the well. "The injured child was taken to the Children's City Hospital 2, the rescuers took the student home," the Interior Ministry's Emergency Situations Committee said.
Nadir Omargaziev is the eldest child in a large family. He has four sisters and one younger brother. Nadir happened to be near the well by pure chance. Usually Nadir does not have classes that day, but lessons from Thursday have been postponed to Friday.
The Department of Emergency Situations of Astana city thanked the hero for his vigilance, courage and dedication in saving the child. For a brave deed, the hero will be awarded by the leadership of the capital's emergency department.
