MOSCOW, Dec 23 - RIA Novosti. Member of the Federation Council Defense Committee Franz Klintsevich commented on the situation with sending the children of Bryansk officials to rest at the expense of charitable funds, saying that it is unacceptable to use his official position and increase the social advantages of his children.

The trip of 50 children from the Bryansk city of Klintsy to the Turkish city of Demre was organized in March 2018 by the charitable foundation named after the Russian ambassador to Turkey, Andrei Karlov. It was timed to coincide with the appropriation of one of the streets of the Turkish city after a diplomat who was born in Klintsy. Later it turned out that among the delegates were several children of local officials. Bryansk Governor Alexander Bogomaz said that the administration of the city of Klintsy would be punished for this.

"From this whole story with the sending of the children of Bryansk officials to Turkey through a charitable foundation, conclusions must be drawn - and once and for all. I think it makes no sense to understand by what criteria they were selected there … It has nothing to do with the observance of elementary principles of social justice," - wrote Klintsevich on his Facebook page.

According to him, the children of officials already initially have a number of advantages over their peers - "both in terms of their financial situation and in terms of opportunities to get a better education."

All the more, it is unacceptable to artificially inflate these advantages using an official position. The challenge, on the other hand, is to create the most equal opportunity for a start in life for all our children.
