EKATERINBURG, December 22. / TASS /. Sverdlovsk families with minor children, whose parents are registered with the employment service, have received social benefits totaling 1.5 billion rubles since the beginning of the pandemic. This was announced by Natalia Bordyugova, Deputy Director of the Department for Labor and Employment of the Population of the Sverdlovsk Region, at a press conference at the Ural Regional TASS Information Center on Tuesday.
"[The state this year] has supported citizens who have minor children. Such payments were made to about 120 thousand children, and about 1.5 billion rubles were spent for these purposes," Bordyugova said.
The department clarified to TASS that a prerequisite for obtaining such subsidies is the fact that one of the parents is registered with the employment service. Payments were provided for each minor child.
According to the regional headquarters, as of December 22, the total number of cases of new coronavirus infection recorded in the Sverdlovsk region is 54,939, 1,360 people died, the total number of discharged patients reached 47,253.
