NOVOSIBIRSK, December 24. / TASS /. The authorities of the Novosibirsk region expect that the number of viewers of the governor's Christmas tree, which will be telecast this year due to the pandemic, will be twice as large as during the traditional celebration, Deputy Minister of Culture of the region Yevgeny Sazonov said on Thursday in the TASS press center.
"This year, the Governor's Christmas tree will be held in the format of a TV program without the participation of spectators. There are also advantages to this format. If up to 1.7 thousand children could see the Governor's Christmas tree directly, then we expect that the broadcast of this Christmas tree will be seen by the audience in two times more, "said Sazonov.
According to him, the tree will be held on December 30, December 31 and January 1. In December, the broadcast will begin at 17:00 (13:00 Moscow time), and on January 1 at 15:50 (11:50 Moscow time). The celebration will begin with a New Year's video postcard from Santa Claus, after which the Governor of the Novosibirsk Region Andrei Travnikov will deliver congratulations. After that, the Novosibirsk Academic Youth Theater "Globus" will present the play "Morozko".
"The play" Morozko "will be presented. It was staged by our young but already well-established production director Ivan Orlov. The production group is all from our theater, and there are a lot of light, video and other effects interesting for children and adolescents in this performance ", - said the theater director Tatyana Lyudmilina.
In addition, the tradition of presenting gifts to children invited to the Governor's Christmas tree will continue. Among them are inmates of orphanages, children of dead servicemen and children-volunteers. They will be able to pick up their gifts before the New Year.
According to the operational headquarters, on the morning of December 24, more than 26.7 thousand cases of coronavirus infection were registered in the region.
