KIROV, October 4. / TASS /. The ombudsman for the rights of children in the Kirov region revealed violations in more than 60% of children's country camps in the region in 2018. Facts of non-observance of sanitary and hygienic standards, employment of convicted citizens and violations of the rules for storing food were noted, the Commissioner for the Rights of the Child of the region Vladimir Shabardin told the members of the commission on social standards of the Public Chamber of the Kirov region on Thursday.
“In 15 camps, this is more than 60% of the camps, various violations were revealed. Almost in half of the camps, violations of the rules for storing food were noted, in almost a quarter of the camps there was a violation of the temperature regime when storing food, expired food was found in two camps,” Shabardin said.
According to the ombudsman, in the children's camps, two facts of concluding an employment contract without providing a certificate of a criminal record and two facts of involving workers with a criminal record, which is a violation of labor legislation, were also revealed. In addition, in one camp, two minors worked without registration. There were also cases of violation of the rules for storing medicines, the norms of ensuring the safety of children in the camp, there are comments on the material support of the camps, Shabardin added.
"Violations are different. Perhaps this year the number of violations is slightly less, but in general the problems remain the same: the same convicted people, the same expired products, violations of the storage conditions for medicines," Shabardin commented on the situation in the camps to a TASS correspondent.
According to the regional government, in the summer of 2018, 54.4 thousand children rested in recreational organizations of the region, including in country camps, as well as school camps.
