MOSCOW, May 22 - RIA Novosti. The Shvabe - Mercy Charitable Foundation has been awarded the prize of the annual competition of the VI National Program "Best Social Projects of Russia" in the Charity category, the press service of the Shvabe holding reports.
The program "Best Social Projects in Russia" was created to support the course of the Russian government to strengthen social policy based on partnership between the state, society and private business. Among its participants are well-known Russian and foreign companies.
"During its work, the fund has provided assistance to 500 children with life-threatening diseases. Since the start of the project, launched in 2013, the amount of assistance provided has exceeded 34 million rubles," the press release says.
According to Olga Malashkina, deputy general director of Shvabe, all children received the necessary treatment in the largest federal medical centers.
The press service also noted that along with supporting children with life-threatening diseases, the Shvabe-Mercy Foundation provides assistance to those in need within the framework of a social rehabilitation program. So, in 2017, the foundation sent children's clothes, shoes, fiction, as well as toys and stationery for dozens of pupils of the Pokrov Orthodox Children's Social Rehabilitation Center. In the same year, the foundation donated a GAZ minibus specially equipped for transporting children to the social rehabilitation center of the Oktyabrsky District of Yekaterinburg.
