"As of July 1 of this year, 4230 children were born at the Mama Patimat Republican Perinatal Center, including 166 twins," said a spokesman for the press service. According to him, the four thousandth child was born after June 20.

As the head physician of the Republican Perinatal Center "Mama Patimat" Nizam Osmanov noted, with the commissioning of this center, which has all the necessary modern equipment and highly qualified specialists, in Dagestan, for the first time, they began to take care of children "born much earlier."

"So, in March of this year, our specialists managed to save a newborn girl who was born on January 2 and weighed only 450 grams at birth," Osmanov said.
