As part of its development strategy, the Shvabe innovation holding implements a wide range of projects in various fields, and one of its key areas of activity is social policy - training promising personnel, supporting sports events, charity and sponsorship.
The holding not only creates high-tech products that help save lives, develops a talent pool for the production of "smart" products, creates comfortable modern living conditions, promotes the popularization of sports, but also pays attention to the development of social potential, in particular charity, providing targeted assistance to those in need. For several years, "Shvabe" has been supporting the donor movement in the country, and, together with medical institutions in Russia and other countries, has been helping children with serious illnesses to get the opportunity to undergo complex and expensive medical procedures.
With the aim of promoting this direction, five years ago, the Shvabe-Mercy holding charitable foundation was founded, which today unites thousands of caring employees of the holding.
In 2017, enterprises located in Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Novosibirsk and other cities of Russia took part in charitable projects of the corporate fund. A total of 114 children with life-threatening illnesses have been treated by specialists in the optical industry. More than 100 children underwent examination and treatment in Russia, four - in clinics in Germany, Israel, Korea, Switzerland, medical products and medicines were purchased for four more. 19 organizations became partners of the fund.
“It is important for us not only to produce high-tech medical equipment for newborns, but to use all possible tools to save the lives of those children who are in dire need of it. Last year, the holding's specialists donated over 6 million rubles to the fund. All funds were directed in full to help seriously ill children. We are sincerely glad that every year more and more representatives of the optical industry are joining this important mission. It is hundreds of children's smiles that are the strongest motivation for us,”said Olga Malashkina, Deputy General Director of Shvabe.
The main focus of the foundation is helping children. Among the wards of the foundation are mainly children diagnosed with oncology. Last year, they underwent examination and treatment in the leading medical institutions of Russia - the Center for Pediatric Hematology named after V. I. Dmitry Rogachev and the N. N. Blokhin. The holding, engaged in the development and production of neonatal equipment, in its charitable activities pays close attention to the treatment and rehabilitation of premature newborns with low weight. Today, Shvabe organizes treatment for such babies at the Kaluga Regional Hospital. Last year, the doctors of this institution helped two babies.
Over the five years of its existence, the Shvabe-Mercy Charitable Foundation has donated over 37 million rubles to help 501 children, collected by employees of the holding's enterprises on their own. Today, there are 3538 people among the benefactors at Shvab. The brand strategy pays special attention to the protection of the workforce and each individual employee. According to social policy, if a person is faced with a problem, he is never left alone with it, he can always count on the help of the company.
