MOSCOW, 8 Feb - RIA Novosti. The decision to return the monument to Felix Dzerzhinsky to the Lubyanka should be made taking into account the opinion of Muscovites, Yevgeny Gerasimov, head of the Moscow City Duma Commission on Culture and Mass Communications, told RIA Novosti.
Earlier it was reported that writers, bloggers and journalists, including Zakhar Prilepin, Igor Molotov, Alexander Prokhanov, Dmitry Puchkov, Lesya Ryabtseva and others, signed an appeal to return the monument to Dzerzhinsky to Lubyanskaya Square. An appeal with a request to consider the possibility of returning the monument was addressed to the government and the mayor's office of Moscow.
"Each appeal is considered depending on today's opinion, the wishes of residents who will evaluate this or that proposal. Opinion can change, in my lifetime there were a lot of such wishes and proposals, most often they arise on the eve of elections to various structures of state power. I have not seen it, but I can say that any appeal, both in the Duma and in the government, is taken very seriously. I do not assess this proposal, I act taking into account the interests of most of our Muscovites … I, as a representative of one of the branches of government, should not rely on your personal opinion. Let's consider, I must be objective, "- said Gerasimov.
