On December 2, with the participation of the Governor of the Yaroslavl Region Dmitry Mironov, the first opening meeting of the Supervisory Board of the Sledge Hockey Autonomous Non-Commercial Organization took place. This was reported by the regional government. The day before, the regional team went out on the ice for the first time after three months of "dry" training in the gym.

“I would like to thank everyone who took part in the creation of such an important area of sports rehabilitation as sledge hockey. This work is possible only with the interaction of government agencies and public organizations, - said Dmitry Mironov. - In the Yaroslavl region, the policy for the development of physical culture and sports, and in particular, the sports rehabilitation of children and adolescents with disabilities, is aimed at maximizing the provision of conditions for classes, taking into account personal abilities. Our task is all-round socialization of children with diseases of the musculoskeletal system and an individual approach to each child."
In the Yaroslavl sledge hockey team, there are children diagnosed with cerebral palsy and disorders of the musculoskeletal system. Tatyana Batysheva, chief freelance specialist of the Ministry of Health of Russia for children's rehabilitation, took part in the meeting in the format of videoconference communication. She thanked the Governor for the development of this type of sports rehabilitation.
“You are real magicians. Thank you for putting your heart and soul into our children! - said Tatyana Batysheva. - You gave them the opportunity to live a new life. We all saw their happy faces during the friendly game in August."
In sledge hockey, children with disabilities learn to work in a team, begin to use their bodies in a way that they could not do before.
Most of the children were examined by specialists from the Scientific and Practical Center for Pediatric Psychoneurology in Moscow.
“Parents have already seen an increase in children's mobility and an improvement in their emotional stability as a result of systematic training,” said Anatoly Gulin, Deputy Prime Minister of the Yaroslavl Region. - The plans are to form several children's teams that are close in age. Each will include 12 people."
According to the government of the Yaroslavl region, sponsoring organizations are actively involved in the implementation of the social project: Fingo Group of Companies, Fora-Bank JSCB, Sberbank PJSC, Polygraph Print LLC. Training sledges and specialized hockey sticks were specially made for the team, hockey equipment was purchased.
