Botanical Garden of IKBFU I. Kant has launched a new project for children - the book club "Drevotsvet". Employees of the institution shared information about this with "Klops".
The project started on June 2. All summer, on Tuesdays and Sundays, the Botanical Garden is planning to hold meetings for young nature lovers. The children, together with a specialist, will read various works, and after that they will walk and get acquainted with the flora, which they just learned about.
“The idea of the meetings is for a certified biologist to read books about nature with children, and then show and talk about what he has read in nature. At the first meeting of the book club, children got acquainted with Vitaly Bianki's fairy tale "Krasnaya Gorka", poems by Samuil Marshak and Agnia Barto. After the reading, the guys went in search of the heroes of the works - birds and plants,”said Svetlana Yakovleva, organizer of“Drevotsvet”.
In bad weather, meetings are transferred to the lecture hall or to the greenhouse. Participants meet at the lecture hall on Tuesdays at 12:00 and on Sundays at 16:00. A single admission ticket can be purchased at the Botanical Garden's ticket office.
From the first of May, the Botanical Garden switched to a summer mode of operation. You can also have time to enjoy the lush bloom of wisteria and irises.
