The check will take place in the maternity hospitals of the Russian capital after the discovery of five babies born by surrogate mothers in the apartment, said the children's ombudsman of the capital Olga Yaroslavskaya.
As the Ombudsman clarified, it is already known for certain that all the babies found in the Moscow apartment were born by mothers who signed refusals. Investigators received the necessary documents from the company accompanying the surrogacy. Yaroslavskaya explained that the birth of children to order is not prohibited by the laws of the Russian Federation, but due to the pandemic, difficulties arose with the adoption of such children abroad. Therefore, the ombudsman assumes that in Moscow there may be more children born by surrogate mothers for parents from other countries and remaining in the country in unknown conditions, RIA Novosti reports.
As an ombudsman for the rights of the child, I am afraid: are there any such cases in Moscow, where children who were also born by surrogate mothers and could not leave the country in time due to quarantine to go to their parents, may be in conditions unknown to us. I sent a request to the health department, to the prosecutor's office to schedule a check in maternity hospitals to receive children by power of attorney in order to find out where the children are, in what condition, the Ombudsman said.
Yaroslavskaya added that all five discovered children are healthy and developing by age, one of them has pronounced Asian facial features.
Earlier, five abandoned babies were found in the north-east of the capital in one apartment. The newborns were unattended by adults, and the documents found with them were issued in Chinese. The parents of the babies have not yet been identified.
As NEWS.ru wrote earlier, the owner handed over the apartment in Moscow, where five babies were found, to a married couple of students three years ago. The Muscovite, according to him, could not even imagine that the three-ruble note on Argunovskaya Street had turned into almost a maternity hospital. At the same time, the neighbors claim that almost a "Chinese army" has entered.
