The Rambler Group is discussing a possible merger of their publications: Lenta.ru, Gazeta.ru, Afisha, Championship and RNS. It is proposed to unite the media on one platform, which is currently under development. At the same time, each edition will have a separate website, RBC reports, citing a source close to the holding.
The name for this platform is chosen by voting within the Rambler Group. According to the interlocutor of RBC, the holding wants to unite the audience of its media on one site using a loyalty program so that users move from the content of one publication to another interested in one within the framework of one service. The platform can be called "Gingerbread" or "Ray".
The emails also ask employees to vote for a new Rambler & Co. name. The message says that Rambler Group media have long been ready for changes, a new image and visual concept. Among the proposed options are "Rocket", "Wave" and "Rambler". Rambler Group may add to its asset a publication on finance, business and the future. Employees were also asked to vote for its name - "Secret" or "Height".
According to Mediascope, the total daily audience of all Rambler Group projects in July 2020 was 6.6 million people. In the summer, Sberbank (from September 24, Sberbank) invested 2 billion rubles in Rambler Group and increased its stake in the group to 55%. The company announced that it intends to take Rambler Group projects to a completely new level.
