MOSCOW, 23 October - RIA Novosti. The Ombudsman for the Rights of the Child in the Russian Federation Anna Kuznetsova is in contact with the regional Ombudsman in Perm, where an 11-year-old girl drowned during a synchronized swimming training session, the Ombudsman's press service reported.
The tragedy happened on Tuesday. The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on the death of the child. The Prosecutor's Office of the Industrial District of Perm has begun checking compliance with safety requirements at the Olympia sports complex, where the girl drowned.
"Anna Kuznetsova appealed to the Perm Territory Prosecutor's Office with a request to check the activities of this pool, where a girl also drowned in April 2018. The Commissioner is in contact with the regional children's ombudsman," the statement said.
Earlier, the prosecutor's office said that during the audit, a legal assessment of the coach's labor qualifications, the timeliness of the medical examination of athletes, the observance of the coaching staff of the sports complex with part-time labor functions and labor standards will be given.
In the spring of 2018, a 10-year-old girl suffocated to death in the same pool while training underwater in fins. The doctors managed to revive her, but the child ended up in a coma. A month later, the girl died without regaining consciousness. In relation to the coach, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case for causing death by negligence due to improper performance of professional duties, which was terminated due to the reconciliation of the parties - the accused paid compensation to the child's family in the amount of 2 million rubles.
