The monitoring will concern five regions of the country.

On September 15, within the framework of the federal project "Strengthening Public Health", Rospotrebnadzor began checking the nutrition of various groups of the population (including children). The Moscow, Samara, Sverdlovsk and Omsk regions, as well as the Republic of Bashkortostan, were selected as pilot territories for research this year, according to the official website of Rospotrebnadzor.
Rospotrebnadzor specialists, together with scientists from the Institute of Nutrition and other research centers of the Moscow region, Perm and Novosibirsk, will conduct a study using a questionnaire / survey of parents (with the participation of children), analysis of this educational institutions where children's meals are organized.
The main monitoring tasks include such indicators as assessing actual nutrition: what foods are consumed, in what quantity, how many times a day, what children eat in organized groups and at home, what regional characteristics and, most importantly, how much the diet meets the principles of healthy eating with sugar, salt, trans fats, the presence of essential micronutrients,
- said the Head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova.
According to Popova, monitoring, among other things, will tell about the eating habits that exist in the family. Thus, the data obtained can be used as the basis for new recommendations on nutrition for children of different ages, for the development of targeted educational programs for children, parents, and teachers.
Recall that at the end of July, the First Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, Alexander Buksman, announced the start in the second half of the year of testing the quality of food in all Russian schools.
