MOSCOW, June 26 - RIA Novosti. About 8% of all patients evacuated by helicopters are children, they are given priority during evacuation, Sergei Gumenyuk, chief freelance specialist in first aid, deputy director of the Scientific and Practical Center for Emergency Medical Aid of the Moscow Health Department, told RIA Novosti.

“You can take the recent case when a child in Novokosino fell from the 17th floor, the aviation medical team took him to the hospital and a month later came out of there with his own legs. Of course, children who have been involved in an accident are a priority. Unfortunately, when the weather is hot, children rely on on the grates, on the mosquito nets and fall. And we immediately fly to the children, 8% of all evacuees are children, "Gumenyuk said.
He added that at the moment there are helipads in 7 adult hospitals of the Moscow Department of Health and in three children's hospitals.
Earlier, the first deputy director of the Moscow Aviation Center, Vladimir Fedorov, told reporters that about 6 thousand people were evacuated in Moscow using helicopters over the 10 years of joint work of the Moscow Aviation Center and the Emergency Medical Center.
The Moscow Aviation Center is part of the Moscow City Emergency Prevention and Response System (MGES) and is a subordinate institution of the Department for Civil Defense, Fire Safety and Emergencies of Moscow.
This is the only aviation institution that provides emergency prevention and response in Moscow from the air. In the megalopolis, only IAC helicopters extinguish fires, take off for emergencies, road accidents and other incidents, including carrying out sanitary evacuation of the population.
