The State Duma criticized the idea of holding parades of preschoolers before May 9. Tamara Pletneva, chair of the parliamentary committee on family, women and children, said there is no need to arm small children with toy weapons. So she reacted to the news about the holding of the "Parade of preschool troops" in Pyatigorsk, according to the radio station "Moscow Says".

“And the fact that they come out with flowers is very good. Today in Tambov our children went to lay flowers. This is a must,”she added.
At the same time, Pletneva rebuked the media, which drew attention to the "Parade of Preschool Troops". "Why tell a single case to the whole country?" - she was indignant.
Earlier on Tuesday, May 7, it became known that the “Parade of Preschool Troops” was held in the center of Pyatigorsk, in which more than 500 children took part. They marched across the square at the Eternal Flame in the uniform of infantrymen, tankmen, pilots, sailors, gunners and nurses. The children also wore modern camouflage, they held toy weapons in their hands, saluted and laid flowers at the memorial.
According to Natalia Vasyutina, head of the education department of the Pyatigorsk administration, this parade should help teach children to behave correctly. In her opinion, "the earlier patriotic education begins, the healthier the society."
