Parents of large families will be able from January 2021 to take part in free trainings aimed at improving relationships and maintaining harmony in the family. Seminars on various topics will be held within the framework of the project "Prevention of family trouble in large families" of the Center for Assistance to Large Families "Mnogomama", said the head of the organization Alina Kontareva.

The project won a grant from the Mayor of Moscow for non-profit organizations (NPOs). The center's program became one of the winners in the Family Moscow nomination. According to Kontareva, the trainings will be aimed at uniting large families who have encountered difficulties - intra-family conflicts, misunderstandings and psychological discomfort, including during the period of self-isolation.
“Family members have broken their usual life scenarios, which many could not adapt to. They were exposed to fear for the life and health of their loved ones. Parents with five or seven children live in small apartments, so the risk of burnout into isolation was higher. Such internal tension can lead to changes in personal behavior. In this case, the parents blame the children for all family problems, often using cruel treatment against them. And thus, the family can become dysfunctional,”explained Kontareva.
The path to mutual understanding and support
In order to help parents with many children to overcome quarrels and get out of stress, the project will host trainings that will help stabilize family relationships and increase stress resistance.
“From January next year, trainings will be held to prevent emotional burnout, to improve the quality of educational opportunities and stress resistance. Parents' scenario behavior will be corrected, and they will also be told how to translate non-resource behavior into constructive one,”said the head of the center.
Also, all training participants will be able to receive consultations from psychologists. Kontareva stressed that such seminars will help prevent the emergence and significantly reduce the number of dysfunctional families, as well as protect children from the risk of social orphanhood, vagrancy and psychological and pedagogical neglect.
Trainings will begin in early 2021. All parents with many children who would like to participate in the seminars should, at the beginning of January next year, call the Mnogomama Help Center by phone: 8 (963) 664-52-23 and sign up.
