The Governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, instructed to create an operational headquarters to coordinate the activities of city and federal services for the period from December 28 to January 15 to ensure the smooth operation of various structures involved in helping the townspeople on New Year's holidays. He announced this at a meeting of the city government on Tuesday.
"We have the New Year holidays ahead, and we need to do everything to take care of the townspeople. Therefore, I give instructions to create an operational headquarters under the interdepartmental city coordination council to counter the spread of a new coronavirus infection in St. Petersburg to coordinate the activities of city and federal services in the period from December 28, 2020 to January 15, 2021, "Beglov said.
According to him, the purpose of the operational headquarters is "to ensure the uninterrupted operation of call centers, laboratories, medical institutions, both city and federal, providing units for the provision of medical services and assistance to city residents who find themselves in an unforeseen situation."
Proposals on the composition of the operational headquarters, the rules of interaction and the schedule of its work will be drawn up by December 24. Deputy Governor Yevgeny Yelin was appointed responsible for the execution of the order.
