Recall that the body of a child with multiple stab wounds in the neck was found on February 8. On suspicion of murder, investigators detained the girl's 60-year-old grandmother. The investigating authorities establish the circumstances of the incident.
“We find out why the girl was with her grandmother late in the evening, where were the child’s parents, whether the family was on preventive records, in what conditions the deceased grew up and was brought up,” said Anzhelika Linkova.
She notes that it is necessary to understand the causes of the tragedy. In particular, it remains to be seen that there were earlier signals in relation to this family, and if so, then whether the necessary measures were taken.
The ombudsman asked the regional prosecutor's office to assess the work of the prevention bodies and the actions of officials.
“After studying the whole situation, it will be possible to draw conclusions, including whether the death of a small child could have been prevented,” said the Ombudsman.
We add that the prosecutor's office has already begun an investigation into the murder of the girl.
