In Kaluga on December 3, on the International Day of Disabled Persons, Governor Vladislav Shapsha took part in the project of the Association for Helping Children "Safe Childhood" - "Take my hand", the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Kaluga Region told a REGNUM correspondent.

The goal of the project is to draw public attention to the problems of children with disabilities, to involve children in society, to introduce children to popular residents of the region. Within the framework of the event, Vladislav Shapsha met with one of the project participants who has diabetes mellitus in the Kaluga children's technopark "Quantorium". The child is brought up in a complete large family. The boy told the head of the region that he is a fifth-grader and good, loves to design. In the course of communication between the governor and the boy, it turned out that the child is well acquainted with the peculiarities of his body, independently and in a timely manner controls the level of sugar in the blood, takes medications, which he always has with him. Vladislav Shapsha praised the boy for his ability to take care of himself, his life and his safety.

“We all need to remember that there are people next to us who need not only direct care, but also attention, kindness, and a normal human attitude,” said the Kaluga governor.

The Kaluga Association for Helping Children "Safe Childhood" was established in June 2018. The main goal of her activities is to provide social and pedagogical, socio-psychological, socio-labor and socio-legal assistance to children.
