The teacher found the unconscious child in the water and performed intensive care.
In the Kursk region, on the Tuskar River, a tragedy with a child almost happened. The teenager dived into the water, but did not swim to the surface. Fortunately, Igor Boyko, a teacher of additional education at the Svobodinskaya secondary school of general education, was sailing not far from this place on a boat with his two children.
A Russian teacher saved the life of a drowning 12-year-old boy thanks to an instant reaction and courses that the man took with specialists from the Center for Disaster Medicine.
The details of the incident are reported by the regional edition "Kurskie Izvestia" with reference to the information of the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Kursk region.
Igor Boyko with his son and daughter were sailing in a boat with oars and saw two girls near the backwater, pointing to the water. When the man heard from them that the boy had dived here and did not float back, he immediately jumped out of the boat and began to dive in search of the child. The unconscious teenager was found the second time. The source quotes Igor as saying:
“The guy was already without signs of life. I began to provide first aid - I did artificial respiration, indirect massage … After two cycles, the teenager's heart began to beat. Before the start of resuscitation measures, I asked to call the rescue service to report this case, clarify the place of the incident and call an ambulance."
As the man himself admits, he carried out the rescue operation on the machine. In this he was helped by special training in courses and activities in the tourism center.
The rescued boy is now in a medical facility under the supervision of doctors.
