The trip was timed to coincide with the Defender of the Fatherland Day. The children were told about the history of the holiday, about service in the army, they were shown samples of weapons of the Great Patriotic War, modern samples and means of armored protection that are in service with the Russian Guard. Sweets and fruits were brought to children as a gift. In turn, the pupils of the orphanage, together with their educators, prepared a concert and competitions for the Defender of the Fatherland Day - young artists sang songs, recited poems about military service and danced. At the end of the meeting, they presented gifts to the guests made with their own hands. Together with the children, the guests were greeted by the director of the institution Valentina Khmyznikova and the deputy director for educational work Tatyana Orlova. According to Viktor Tarabarin, Chairman of the Council of Fathers under the Children's Ombudsman of Primorye, the members of the Council of Fathers visit orphanages to show the children that they are not alone in this world.
