A pregnant woman with a serious gynecological pathology was operated on in the Central Clinical Medical Unit of Ulyanovsk. Previously, a diagnosis of this kind involved, as a rule, the removal of the reproductive organ and fetus. Ulyanovsk surgeons managed to save both the woman and the child.
The woman was urgently taken to the gynecology of the medical unit. Doctors suspected peritonitis and torsion of the ovarian cyst. All this posed a serious threat to the life of both the patient herself and her fetus. In addition, during the operation, doctors identified advanced inflammation in the organs of the reproductive system, which led to the formation of a purulent clot weighing 300 milliliters, which also affected part of the intestine.
- The tactics of treating such patients, in view of the great danger to life, implies the removal of both the reproductive organ and the fetus, - commented Natalia Makarova, head of the gynecological department 2.
Nevertheless, during the consultation, the doctors decided on a complex operation to separate the purulent formation and remove the focus of infection.
During the operation, which lasted two hours, the doctors managed to save the reproductive organ and the child. The patient is currently recovering and preparing for discharge.
