Yesterday, the Volzhsky City Court of the Volgograd Region received materials about the death of a baby who fell out of a fifth-floor window. During the investigation, it was found that the mother had left the 9-month-old baby and his 3-year-old brother without adult supervision. The father of the children at this time was asleep drunk.
The regional edition of V1.ru was told about the family in which the children were raised in the press service of the Volgograd Region Prosecutor's Office: “A married couple lived in a room in one of Volzhsky's dormitories. On Thursday, September 5, the couple drank alcoholic beverages. The couple raised a three-year-old son and a nine-month-old baby. In 2011, they were deprived of parental rights in relation to their eldest four-year-old daughter with a disability. She is being raised by her grandmother."
Also, the supervisory department explained that the drunk father fell asleep at about 11:00, and the mother left the room for some time, where the children were left to their own devices. At that moment, the 9-month-old baby was on the couch, which stood next to the open window. The kid climbed onto the windowsill and rested against the mosquito net, which could not support the child's weight and fell down with him. The child died from his injuries.
Volga investigators opened a criminal case against the mother of the deceased baby under article Under Part 1 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (causing death by negligence).
Also, a week ago, the mother and father were deprived of parental rights in relation to their three-year-old son. The above-mentioned source was informed about this by the press service of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee in the Volgograd region, which was investigating the criminal case, “The woman understood that both her children could move around the room on their own, but due to their age, they were not yet able to report on their actions. The accused and her husband led an asocial lifestyle and regularly abused alcohol. On September 15 - 10 days after the tragedy - the court deprived them of their rights in relation to their three-year-old son.
