VOLGOGRAD, November 3. / TASS /. The prosecutor's office of the Volgograd region began checking because of a video posted on social networks with a rite of exorcism from a 10-year-old boy. This was reported to TASS by the senior assistant to the prosecutor Oksana Cheredinina. The footage caught in the network shows how parents are holding their son, showing him an icon, pouring blessed water over him and smearing him with garlic. At the same time, the child wheezes and screams.
"In the Volgograd region, a check has been organized in connection with the dissemination of a video on the Internet about a possible violation of the rights of a minor," Cheredinina said.
Nina Boldyreva, Ombudsman for Children's Rights in the Volgograd Region, told TASS that this is a family from the Olkhovsky District of the Region, while the video itself may be staged.
According to the ombudsman, the guardianship authorities checked the family and were ready to remove the child if he was in danger. "However, none of this was confirmed when visiting the family. The child goes to school, no manifestations of such a plan were noticed behind him. The parents were ordered to show the child to a specialized medical specialist, which they did," Boldyreva said. According to her, there is an assumption that the child could have fallen under the influence of a close relative, who is distinguished by non-standard behavior. The boy's parents were advised to limit communication with her.
