VOLGOGRAD, December 14. / TASS /. The Russian five-year-old girl, who returned from Syria to Moscow last week, arrived in the Volgograd region, where she will live with her grandmother, Nina Boldyreva, ombudsman for children in the Volgograd region, told TASS.
Anna Kuznetsova, Commissioner for Children's Rights under the President of the Russian Federation, previously told reporters that four Russian children who returned from Syria to their homeland on December 6 will be returned to two families where their relatives live - to Dagestan and Volgograd.
"In Moscow, a five-year-old girl was met by her grandmother, they did not detain them for a long time at the National Medical Research Center, the child's health is normal, so they calmly returned to the Volgograd region, everything is fine with them," Boldyreva said.
She noted that a legal procedure is currently expected related to the return of the three-year-old sister of the returned girl, who was born outside of Russia. "There you need to recognize a fact of legal significance, to recognize that a girl is the daughter of this woman. Establish guardianship, issue a birth certificate, citizenship and bring the child here. This procedure will take some time," said the children's ombudsman of the region.
According to her, the girl who has returned to the Volgograd region and her grandmother are under the patronage of the office of the children's ombudsman in the region. "Questions related to the establishment of guardianship, with the appointment of due payments, any other questions that may arise. So far, there are no signs that the child needs psychological help, but if there are such signs - such help, of course, the girl will be immediately provided ", - said Boldyreva.
Earlier, the children's ombudsman of the Russian Federation Kuznetsova announced 146 children who are on the lists and may be on the territory of camps and prisons in Syria. She noted that after a DNA test, these children can be recognized as Russian citizens, 49 such tests have already confirmed family ties with Russians. According to her, at the time of DNA sampling, the youngest child was several months old, the eldest - up to 17 years old.
Children in Syria and Iraq
The problem of the presence of children of Russian citizens in Syria and Iraq arose due to the fact that some Russians fought in the Middle East on the side of the Islamic State (IS) organization banned in the Russian Federation. They entered into marriages, brought wives, they had children, many of whom were left orphans. In 2017, terrorists began sending them to indoctrination and military training camps to join the ranks of the militants.
Work on the return to their homeland of Russian children who found themselves in the zone of armed conflict is being actively carried out on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. Since 2017, the children's ombudsman, together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Health and other departments, have developed an algorithm of actions, thanks to which children return to the Russian Federation.
