Researchers at Soroka University Medical Center in Israel conducted a new study and found that fifty is the new forty when it comes to childbirth.

Modern women are increasingly thinking about children after 40. Take, for example, celebrities: actress Rachel Weisz got pregnant at 48, singer Janet Jackson gave birth to her first child at 50, and actress Bridget Nielsen gave birth to her fifth child at 54.
Of course, the risk of complications increases with the age of the woman. But when researchers at the Soroka Center studied the data of 242,711 women in labor, they were surprised: yes, the complications in 40-year-olds, on average, were more than in younger women, but the condition of women in labor from 40 to 50 years old remained the same. That is, of course, at 20 it is easier to bear and give birth to a child than at 40, but at 50 it is not at all dangerous to give birth! So women who have just turned 40 need not panic - they have at least another 10 years left!
Nonetheless, the head of the research group, Professor Shiner, strongly advises that pregnant women over 40 should be treated with special care. In particular, it is imperative to monitor blood glucose levels and changes in blood pressure from an early date.
