Earlier it became known that a 37-year-old resident of Karpinsk kept her newborn daughter in a closet for six months, bringing her to an emaciated state. The baby was discovered by the mother's friends.

According to the regional Ministry of Health, the child is in serious condition.

A criminal case was initiated under the articles "Failure to fulfill the duties of raising a minor" and "Torture".

"In the course of supervisory measures, the prosecutor's office will assess the compliance with the requirements of federal legislation on the protection of the rights of minors, as well as on the protection of the life and health of children," the press service said.

The alleged mother of the child during pregnancy was not registered with the antenatal clinic and did not seek help from doctors at the time of delivery. Having given birth to a girl, she did not issue documents for her. No baby food, clothes, cribs and baby hygiene products were found in the woman's house.

The woman is also raising a 13-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl.
