In Moscow, a well of the 19th century was restored, which was previously part of the Mytishchi water supply system, which supplied the capital with drinking water, according to the portal of the mayor and the government of Moscow. "The well is a part of the engineering structure of the Mytishchi water pipeline of the second stage. It is not only an archaeological object, but also a monument to the history of science and technology of that time. The Mytishchi water pipeline is an ancient structure, fragments of which have survived on the territory of Moscow. The restorers carefully put the well in order. and now everyone can see it in the park near the Rostokinsky aqueduct, "said the head of the Moscow Department of Cultural Heritage Alexei Yemelyanov. It is noted that historians date the building to 1830. The well was built as part of the Mytishchi water pipeline, which began to be erected in 1779. It was the main source of clean drinking water until the launch of the Rublevskaya water pumping station in 1903. The well was discovered in 2017 during the landscaping work on Sretenka. “The well was innovative for its time. The fact is that it is collapsible and typical, built of standard bricks, but with preserved handmade elements. fitted to each other, with a large cast-iron lid. This lid is an example of the high development of metallurgy in Russia during the reign of Nicholas I, "the message says. It is clarified that the prefecture of the North-Eastern Administrative District came up with a proposal to museumize the well. Now it is located next to the Rostokinsky aqueduct, next to it there is a metal plate with a QR code, and in the near future stands about the history of the monument will be opened near it. Earlier, specialists completed restoration work on the main facade of the building owned by the Babaevsky Confectionery Concern LLC. There, work was carried out to restore the courtyard facade and roof. The building is included in the list of cultural heritage sites of regional importance.
