Ksenia Malafeeva, the 16-year-old daughter of the former Zenit goalkeeper and the Russian national team Vyacheslav Malafeev, told how she survived the death of Marina's mother, who died in a car accident in March 2011.
“How did you react to the death of your mother? Then I was 7 years old. At first, I just didn’t believe in it, I couldn’t imagine it at all. It was very difficult for me to accept. For a week or two I had depression, apathy. I didn't clean my room at all, I didn't communicate with anyone - neither with my grandmother, nor with my dad. I went into myself. Mom was the closest person to me, I was always with her. I just couldn't imagine that.
Years passed - and there was a period, three years, when I did not think about her at all. I did not see the point in this, because Well, what am I going to change ?! But for the past six months, I've started to think about my mom very often. I would very much like to have my own mother. Right now I have such an age when I want to ask her all sorts of questions that only she can answer. I've been so sad lately. Sometimes I get hysterical, I feel sorry for myself,”Ksenia admitted.
In December 2012, Vyacheslav Malafeev married Ekaterina Komyakova. Last week, Ekaterina spoke about a difficult period in their family - their daughter lives alone at the age of 16. Ksenia has already explained why she left her parents.
