A large family as a traditional form of the Russian family has fewer risks of falling apart due to the divorce of the spouses. Elena Mizulina, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Constitutional Legislation and State Construction, announced this during a press conference on the bill on the status of large families.
“In 90-95% of cases, a large family is based on marriage. It is very difficult for a single mom to have so many children. This type of family is the most stable. I'm not talking about the fact that there can be no divorces, but the risks of divorce in such families are much less, because there are children, there are many of them, this also holds back. I'm not even talking about the fact that the very form of such a family in Russia is traditional,”said E. Mizulina.
The senator added that "family stability" is important not only for the upbringing and development of children, but also for the overall situation in the country. “The territory of the country is huge, one person cannot survive, therefore families have historically been large. This continuity is passed on,”concluded E. Mizulina.
