MOSCOW, August 3. / TASS /. Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova instructed the regional ministries of health to ensure the possibility of placing parents or other legal representatives during hospitalization of terminally ill children. Accompanying persons must be provided with bed and food free of charge, according to the minutes of the meeting of the Council under the Government of the Russian Federation on issues of guardianship in the social sphere.
"To the heads of the executive authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation in the field of public health: to ensure the possibility of accompanying children in need of palliative care by one of the parents, another family member, legal representative during their hospitalization in medical organizations providing medical care in inpatient conditions, with the provision of free bed and free meals, "the document says.
The order must be executed by October 31, 2020.
In addition, the regions were instructed to submit to the Ministry of Health of Russia the approved procedure for how terminally ill patients will be provided with medical products designed to maintain the functions of organs and body systems at home. They should also provide suggestions on how, taking into account the regional characteristics, to improve the transfer of such medical devices to patients. The deadline for the execution of this order is set until September 30, 2020.
