CHITA, September 3. / TASS /. The first group of children from areas affected by summer floods of the Trans-Baikal Territory went on vacation to the All-Russian Children's Center (VDC) "Ocean" in Vladivostok, press secretary of the regional Ministry of Education Yekaterina Gorskaya told reporters on Monday.
"152 children from Chita, Karymsky and Nerchinsky districts, as well as from the Aginsky Buryatsky district went to the children's camp. This is the first group. Further, a trip will be organized for children of the Sretensky, Tungokochensky, Chita, Shilkinsky, Aginsky and Duldurginsky districts," Gorskaya said.
The press secretary recalled that the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation provided children from the flooded areas of Transbaikalia with the opportunity to relax in the All-Union Exhibition Center "Ocean". In total, this year, 300 children from affected families will be able to rest in this way. It is assumed that this will not lead to a decrease in their performance in schools, since the educational process will also be organized at the center.
Earlier, 150 children from the affected areas rested in the Enkhaluk children's camp in Buryatia.
Last summer, it rained almost daily for more than a month in the Trans-Baikal Territory, which led in July to large-scale, record-breaking floods in the entire history of meteorological observations. 65 settlements were in the flooding zone, more than 12 thousand people were affected by the flood. The total damage from the disaster, according to preliminary estimates, exceeded 1 billion rubles.
