KALININGRAD, February 19. / TASS /. The body of a five-year-old girl who disappeared in the town of Gvardeisk in the Kaliningrad region on Sunday was found on Monday in the Pregolya River. This was reported to TASS by the representative of the regional department of the Investigative Committee (IC) Natalya Gatsko.

The report about the disappearance of the child was received by law enforcement agencies on 18 February. According to preliminary data, the girl and her mother were visiting friends, the child was playing in the courtyard of the house in full view of the adults, but at some point he disappeared. Mom tried to find the girl herself, and then turned to law enforcement.
"The body of the missing girl was found in the Pregolya River, in the Gvardeysk area," said a spokesman for the UK. She added that in connection with the death of a child, a criminal case was initiated under the article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Murder of a minor."
Gatsko clarified that there are no signs indicating the criminal nature of the death of the child, but the exact reasons for the death of the girl will be established after a forensic medical examination. Now investigators are interviewing witnesses and finding out the circumstances of the incident.
