S.-PETERSBURG, 6 July - RIA Novosti. The cause of the mass poisoning in the Serebryany Ruchey children's health camp in the Leningrad Region could be the causative agent of norovirus, the regional department of Rospotrebnadzor reports.

Earlier it was reported that 16 children were hospitalized from a health camp with poisoning. The regional department of Rospotrebnadzor issued an order for additional anti-epidemic measures, food and water samples were taken.
"Specialists of the Rospotrebnadzor Administration for the Leningrad Region immediately left for the Serebryany Ruchey health camp after receiving information about cases of acute intestinal infection among children. According to the results of the examination, norovirus was found in 8 patients," the message says.
It is noted that as of July 5, no new cases of the disease were registered. The department carries out a full range of anti-epidemic measures. Specialists examine the personnel and children who have had contact with the sick; samples of water and food products are taken for laboratory research.
