Moscow schoolchildren in grades 6-11 who switched to distance learning will easily adapt to it, since the students were ready for such a situation, and not much time has passed since returning to school. Natalya Karpovich, the chairman of the Association of Large Families of the City of Moscow, told the Moscow City News Agency about this.

“Pupils do not have to rebuild again, not much time has passed since they entered schools. It was difficult to rebuild in the first wave. Whether we like it now or not, we, in principle, were ready for this. Everyone understood that such a misfortune would not go away in an instant, although one really wanted it. Many families have limited computer access, there are many difficulties associated with this, but the situation is such that we are talking about the lives of people: about our loved ones, parents, children, teachers, about their safety. There are no other options now, and I think that the government makes decisions that are primarily aimed at our life and health,”she said.

At the same time, the chairperson noted that parents treat the situation with understanding. Karpovich recalled the importance of the right attitude for the successful learning of children in a distance format.

“We all found ourselves in a very difficult situation, we already have the experience of the first wave and now we are faced with a choice: to protect the interests of our citizens, our health, our children, our relatives and friends, so we treat this with understanding and, probably, the entire parenting community now understands the need for this measure. Although we understand that we will have to work a lot, first of all it will largely depend on the parents as well - how we can tune in and set up our children for constructive interaction and work. In my opinion, today the main thing is to simply accept this situation and try to do everything possible to ensure that the children receive the entire necessary educational complex, and for us, as adults who understand the full significance, simply get together and minimize difficult situations together with teachers and school principals. … We have no choice today, and we must cope with this misfortune together,”she said.

Karpovich added that a lot will depend on how well the schools are prepared for distance learning and can organize assistance to parents and students.
