The rally could not be agreed due to anti-epidemic restrictions and missing the deadline for filing a notification. By law, an application for a promotion must be submitted at least 10 days prior to its holding. In addition, in the Kursk region, a high alert regime is still in effect, limiting the holding of mass events. Nevertheless, about 200 young people gathered at Teatralnaya Square in Kursk, from where they headed along the sidewalk of Lenin Street to Red Square. The police accompanied the procession without interfering with what was happening. Traffic police officers even blocked traffic so that its participants could safely cross the street. At the entrance to Red Square, near the Tsentralnaya hotel, the police tried to enter into a dialogue with the protesters. They recalled that the action was illegal and asked to disperse. But these words were not heard. The participants of the procession lined up on the pedestrian area of the square near the main post office opposite the House of Soviets. The police again announced that the action was not coordinated and asked to clear the area. In response, snowballs were thrown at the police and riot police. The riot police moved towards the throwers. The video footage of what is happening shows that one of the protesters, not even defending himself, but simply from "prowess" in a jump attacked the policeman from behind, trying to knock him down. After that, the arrests began. Among the detainees were four employees of the Kursk media covering the event. They were taken to the police station together with all of them, but then they were released without drawing up a protocol. On Monday, representatives of the police met with journalists and apologized for the incident. Among those who observed what was happening were the ombudsman for the rights of the child in the Kursk region Natalya Listopadova and representatives of the regional Council of Fathers. As Natalya Gennadievna explained, the purpose of the presence of social activists is to protect the rights of minors who could be involved in political games. “There have been cases of provocations by people interested in the riots, who tried to bring in young people, but they themselves retired,” said the children's ombudsman. - Having seen all this, I can conclude: children are our future, the meaning of our adult life is in them. Therefore, I would like to tell parents: do not take a passive position in relation to children! I saw how my mother came running in tears to Red Square and took her already grown daughter home. This mother needs her daughter! But the teenagers were watching - and where are their parents ?! For all of us, this is a lesson, a signal that we need to communicate more, be closer to each other, discuss not only grades at school, but the entire range of interests of the child and not be limited to the standard question: "How are you?" and the words: "Go to your room."
